It is always a pleasure to hear
positive feedback from customers regarding the horses
that we breed and sell. A few months back we sold a
pony to Angela Herzer of
Northam, Perth WA. Angela purchased the pony for
her daughter to compete at pony club with and by all
accounts the partnership is experiencing fun and
rewarding times. We wish Angela and her daughtergood
luck in their future endeavours.

About
Us
Coliban Quarter Horses in Western
Australia, known for importing stallions "Three
Solid Bars" and "Tru Blu Texan" took
another bold step and imported two mares in foal to
the great American sire "Zippos Mr Goodbar".
"Zippos Mr Goodbar" is the leading sire of
western pleasure and performance horses in the USA and
features prominently in the pedigree of many world
champions. The first mare, "Call for Zippo",
arrived in 2006 and foaled a beautiful sorrel filly
aptly named "Coliban Good Asset". The second
mare "Miss Plentiful Bars" an own daughter
of "The Ole Man" arrived in 2007 and
recently produced another beautiful filly named
"Coliban Plenty Good". It was a timed
arrival for the now 20 year old mare, and the stud
will make good use of these rare "old-time
bloodlines".
"Three Solid Bars" is a
purpose line-bred stallion whose "Three Bar"
pedigree is renown for its versatility and speed. The
versatility attribute has been in steady decline over
the years, as more and more breeders concentrate on
breeding for specific arena disciplines such as
cutting or reining. The infusion of these dwindling
qualities has seen an increase of bone and height in
"Three Solid Bars" offspring, as well as
producing the potential for increased athleticism,
soundness and the ability to cross discipline
boundaries.
Progeny by "Three Solid
Bars" has won halter competitions in open
company. A recently started 2 year old filly purchased
by Jayes Park in Victoria has received glowing
comments from the resident stud trainer David Pearce.
David was quick to report that the filly showed a
willing mind, calm disposition, and though young is
displaying wonderful balance under saddle. these
attributes are consistent with a horse that will
succeed in the performance horse arena in the future.
"Tru Blu Texan" (Blu) a
superb looking Blue Roan stallion is the first of his
kind to make it to our shores. He is a line-bred
"Blue Valentine" stud whose bloodlines
permeate champions across all ranch type disciplines.
"Blue Valentine" himself became a household
name on the rodeo circuit as a stallion, who not only
possessed speed and size, but had the ability to
compete and win in a variety of disciplines from
barrel racing to calf roping. As a sire he possessed a
pre-disposition to produce foals with outstanding
temperaments, trainability and that all important
overall physical soundness.
Blu carries bloodlines that provide a
complete outcross for Australian Quarter Horse
breeders, and genetic experts have always known the
value of hybrid vigour presenting in the next
generation.
Coliban Quarter Horses have also bred
their American resident mare "Sheeza Fast
Kid", a line-bred "Easy Jet" mare, to
"Dash For Perks", a son of the immortal
:Dash For Cash". this is an exciting opportunity
for the stud to import bloodlines that dominate the
Quarter Horse Racing scene in the USA. Sadly, Quarter
Horse Racing almost dissappeared from the resume of
Australian Quarter Horses, but the resilience and
efforts of many breeders and enthusiasts, has seen a
resurgence of popularity here and the sport looks set
to emerge from it's near obscurity.
